The Road Home

We made our way to River Ranch dude ranch in the middle of Florida. There is so much to do there on a weekend. The accommodations ranged from rented tents, motel style rooms, cottages, glammed out teepees and conestoga wagon style quarters and of course RV sites. The activities include an escape room, bouncy houses, line dancing lessons, saloon dance hall, rodeo, horse back riding, swamp buggy tours and river cruise. We took advantage of the swamp buggy tour and Sallie did the horseback riding. Our short stay there, was a lot of fun!

We’ve always been curious about Lake Okeechobee that sits in the middle of the state. We stayed at the one luxury resort called Silver Palms. We enjoyed the pool both days there because it was so flipping’ hot and there is nothing else to do in Lake Okeechobee, unless you like to fish or swim with alligators.

Palm Beach Motorcoach Resort was our next destination in Jupiter FL. This was a beautiful new resort surrounding a manmade lake and the Cypress Creek Nature Preserve. The city and area around Jupiter had beautiful beachfront houses. We now understand why a lot of famous people have their houses here. We spent a couple of hours kayaking on the Loxahatchee River where we saw lot of turtles, 4 manatees and a baby alligator. It was a relaxing float under a canopy of beautiful trees, ivies and moss.

We almost made it to our final destination Bluewater Key near Key West, when we experienced a outlet temperature sensor failure. We were able to stay at our familiar Keys Palms RV Resort in Key Largo while we had to wait for a tow truck to take us home. We made it safely home and are happy to be settled.

As our 2 month trip ended we reminisce on the great summer we had and are looking forward to the next exciting season at Aztec, a family trip to the Bahamas and mom (and her dog Jazz) spending the holiday season with us.

Until next time… thanks for following our adventures! We hope you enjoyed them.
