One of our favorite arches is located in Canyonlands N.P. It is the famous Mesa Arch. Standing on top of the arch and looking at the floor below, makes one feel very small. It is an awesome experience to be, what feels like, on top of the world! To hear the wind and the wings of the birds, as they fly past you, is amazing.
The end of the road in the north section of Canyonlands is the Grand View Point Overlook.
As we continued through the park, looking at the Green River, we imagined the early explorers traversing the river, as they traveled to the west.
We got very adventurous and decided to 4 wheel the Shafer Trail Road, from the top of Canyonlands to the very bottom. Pictures can’t describe how beautiful and scary it was.
It was fun to visit a new area of Canyonlands, to the south called the Needles. This whole area consists of spires, hoodoos and ancient ocean floors.
While in the Needles area, we hiked the Sliprock Foot Trail.
Such very beautiful pictures. Glad you shared them
Hi Treese… Canyonlands is definitely amazing! We are so fortunate to be able to re-visit all these beautiful national parks.
I hope you are getting settled in your new home and all is well. Loved the picture of you and Robin on FB. She is all grown up!
Take care,
Sue
