We spent three days in Albuquerque New Mexico at the lovely Isleta Lakes RV Park and finally found time to walk/run and get some exercise.
This was not the time of year for hot air balloons, but we did manage to see a few along with a beautiful sunset.
It was really cool when we woke up one morning and found a herd of buffalo next to our campground. There were a bunch of babies too!
We went to old town ABQ and rode the Sandia Tram up to an elevation of 10,000 feet. The view was amazing.
We also took the Rail Runner (meep meep) to Santa Fe NM and visited the main Plaza where there were lots of vendors with very expensive turquoise jewelry (needless to say, Sallie didn’t get any). We toured the oldest church and oldest house in the United States. We visited Canyon Road and stepped into a couple of galleries.
And we visited the Georgia O’Keefe museum which was spectacular.
We went unscathed until the morning we were getting ready to leave for Texas. The kitchen slide out decided not to cooperate and would not retract. There have been problems with this slide since we bought it and it was supposed to have been fixed at the dealership. Needless to say, after a 6 hour delay, we were able to force it back in so that we could hit the road to our next destination, Amarillo Texas.
Our next Post will be all about Sallie… TEXAS!!!
