It was great for Sallie to be able to go back to KU, her alma mater, to walk the campus with Sue and her college best friend Nora. We shopped at the campus bookstore and on Mass. Street, ate Pyramid Pizza and stopped in at “The Wheel” where there were students drinking on a Friday afternoon. It appeared to still be a favorite college drinking hole. Some things never change…….. ahhh, good times.
It was wonderful spending time with Nora, her husband Eric and children Pierce and Anna. Sue finally found the best barbecue ribs after searching 6 states.
Thanks to Eric… the rib master!!!
We also spent an afternoon and dinner catching up with college friends Carrie and Diane at the Plaza.
Throughout Texas and the Midwest, Sue has been freaked out about the huge bugs, spiders and Cicadas. They are everywhere! Here is what they sound and look like:
We stayed at the Cottonwood RV Park in Bonner Springs and the best way to describe it was… DUSTY. Next time, we will try a different park, because we will definitely be back to visit!
