Nova Scotia & New Brunswick

We spent our last 2 weeks in Canada back in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Halifax is a beautiful city with Citadel Hill in the middle of it. An amazing fort with costumed performers showing how a fort would run back in the day.

20 years ago Sallie was obsessed with the Titanic movie and facts surrounding the ship. In Halifax, we were able to go to the Titanic memorial grave sites for some victims that were recovered and went to a Titanic museum that had very interesting facts about the manufacturing and how business driven the owners were, that led to the demise of the ship.
We visited the Halifax Seaport Farmer’s Market that had delicious organic foods and fresh seafood. Pier 21 was a wonderful museum like Ellis Island where immigrants came into Canada.

We took a trip out to Peggy’s Cove where the most photographed lighthouse stands overlooking a scenic fishing village that feels like a living postcard.

We stayed at a wonderful RV park named Oceanfront Campground right on the shores of the Bay of Fundy. Our frontyard was the bay. We were amazed at the constant rise and fall of the waters, the boats in the marina sitting on the floor of the bay, then 8 hours later floating dockside. It was a wonder to see!

Our last National Park was Kejimkujik. A beautiful wooded park with hundreds of acres of Hemlock trees, some around 300 years old. We did several hikes and kayaked on the serene lake.

Our last weekend was in Moncton, where the “highlight” of the town is the Tidal Bore. Well…it was a little anti-climactic. A 6 inch wave was nothing to get excited about! We did eat at a really good vegan restaurant that Sue even liked. We went to Shediac where they have a huge lobster that seems to draw tourists from everywhere. Oh, how we love lobster!

The last touristy thing we experienced was Magnetic Hill. The video tells it all.

If you ever get to the Maritimes, explore, experience and enjoy. We were fortunate enough to spend over 2 months in beautiful Canada. Thanks for coming along for the ride.
