Austin Texas the State Capitol

We visited the State Capitol during our stay in Austin.

Sallie flew to Anaheim to run her 1/2 marathon.

Sue’s sister Sandy flew from San Francisco to spend time here in Austin.

The highlight of Austin was the bats.

1.5 million Mexican bats, mostly female and babies (pups), call the Austin Texas Congress Avenue Bridge their home. Each night at dusk during the summer months, they start their evening feast on insects throughout the community. It takes about 45 minutes for all of them to vacate the bridge.  What an eery sight to see!
