Ahhhhh! The beautiful red rocks of Sedona… so easy on the eyes! Our first night, we were driving back to the RV after dinner when a storm started to brew. Sallie looked in her rearview mirror and immediately pulled over. This was what we saw.
Our first hike in Sedona was within walking distance from the RV park. Margs Draw was spectacular.
The most challenging hike was Cathedral Rock. It consisted of more rock climbing than walking. We made it to the top and the view of the valley of Sedona was amazing. The hike back down consisted of sliding down the rocks on our behinds.
We visited the town of Jerome, 30 miles west of Sedona. An old historic copper mining town built on the side of a mountain. The Thunder Valley Bike Rally just happen to be taking place while we were there.
Our third hike in just 5 days was Bell Rock and the Courthouse Butte. Five miles around the prettiest red rocks was truly inspiring.
Back at the RV, Sallie lounged in her new hammock. Oak Creek cut right through the RV park. The swing turned out to be only a thought… smart move, I’d say!
Our last hike in Sedona was Boynton Canyon. Turned out to be the longest… 6 miles. My aching knees…
