Heading West . . .

After 4 months and 1-1/2 weeks, we have now started to repeat states we visited earlier in our travels.  And, of course, the first one would be Sallie’s home state of Texas. While there, we met up with some of Sallie’s high school friends again.

We were fortunate enough to time our return to Houston to celebrate Thanksgiving with Sallie’s aunt Loraine, her husband Wain, cousin Alex and his wife Josie. We had a huge feast for Thanksgiving dinner in “Our Hale” and truly enjoyed the day.

We then drove north to Waco to visit Sallie’s other aunt Marvel. She fed us lunch and shared the sites of her home town.

On our way to San Antonio, we stopped at a new favorite place in Texas called Buc-ee’s, a full service gas station with souvenirs, food and every kind of junk food imaginable. We stayed overnight in San Antonio to see the Christmas Holiday Lights on the Riverwalk.
